What this actually is
A bed sheet woven through with conductive thread, supplied with a lead that plugs into the earth pin of a mains socket. It connects your skin to the same earth your house wiring uses while you sleep. That is the mechanism, described plainly.

Grounding sheets are sold on a long list of health benefits. The published research is small, mostly industry-funded and not good enough to support those claims, and UK advertising rulings have gone against sellers who make them.
