Fitting it safely

Clean the glass and the cups with alcohol and let them dry before fitting — dust is what makes suction cups fail. Press each cup firmly and test it with your own hand weight before letting the cat on. Re-check the suction weekly and after any hot spell, since heat and cold both affect the seal.

Worth saying plainly

Only fit this to a closed, intact window, at a height where a fall would not injure your cat. Do not use it on a window that gets opened, on cracked or leaded glass, or above stairs. Suction cups can and do fail over time.
