Weight, evenly spread
A weighted blanket is filled with glass beads in stitched pockets so the weight sits across you rather than sliding into a heap at your feet. The feeling is closer to being tucked in firmly than to being covered.
Choosing a weight
The usual rule is roughly 10% of your body weight. Round down rather than up — too heavy is the one thing people regret, and it is the main reason these get returned.

Living with it
Get a duvet cover for it — washing a 9kg blanket is a job, washing a cover is not. Not suitable for young children.
