A basin tap gets used more than anything else in a bathroom, which is why a cheap one announces itself within a year: the lever loosens, the finish clouds, and it starts to drip. This is solid brass with a ceramic disc cartridge, which is the combination that lasts.

Choosing a finish

Will it fit my basin?

It needs a basin with a single tap hole and standard flexible supply hoses beneath. Check for one hole rather than three before ordering. A competent DIYer can swap it in an afternoon; if the old tap is seized, a plumber will do it in under an hour.
